Home Alone 2: Lost in New York:
Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) is back! But this time he's in New York City with enough cash and credit cards to turn the Big Apple into his own playground! But Kevin won't be alone for long. The notorious Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), still smarting from their last encounter with Kevin, are bound for New York too, plotting a huge holiday heist. Kevin's ready to welcome them with a battery of booby traps the bumbling bandits will never forget!Review for Home Alone:
Now and forever a favorite among kids, this 1990 comedy written by John Hughes (The Breakfast Club) and directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire) ushered Macaulay Culkin onto the screen as a troubled 8-year-old who doesn't comfortably mesh with his large family. He's forced to grow a little after being accidentally left behind when his folks and siblings fly off to Paris. A good-looking boy, Culkin lights up the screen during several funny sequences, the most famous of which finds him screaming for joy when he realizes he's unsupervised in his own house. A bit wooden with dialogue, the then-little star's voice could grate on the nerves (especially in long, wise-child passages of pure bromide), but he unquestionably carries the film. Billie Bird and John Candy show up as two of the interesting strangers Culkin's character meets. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are entertainingly cartoonish as thieves, but the ensuing violence once the little hero decides to keep them out of his house is over-the-top. --Tom Keogh

Review : Home Alone in the Best Picture Quality Currently Available!
The Home Alone collection on Blu-Ray is one of the better two-packs available. First the original movie has been restored and remastered to almost the best picture quality available for this originally low-budgeted 20-year old family film. Audio is crystal clear, and the disc is packed with a ton of extra features. The best feature of the disc is watching the audio commentary of Chris Columbus (Director) and Macaulay Culkin (Lead Actor). They play off each other quite nicely and reminisce about making the film and the troubles and fun memories during production. Other special features include:

-Trailers
-Deleted scenes
-Outtakes
-Commentary track
-Stunts featurette
-Behind-the-scenes "making of" documentary
-and much more!

Home Alone 2 on the other hand still retains the excellent picture and audio quality of the first film, but doesn't have any special features, hence the 4-star rating. Overall, I would definitely recommend this...

Review : Love these movies but not happy with the Blu Rays
My wife and I love Home Alone 1 and 2. We recently purchased this and went to watch HA2 first because we hadn't seen that one yet this Christmas season and were extremely disappointed at the picture quality. The picture was jumpy in places and there was grain and squiggly lines all over the place. We ended up putting our original DVD in and felt that it was better.

Home Alone on Disc 1 had some great extras but we weren't all that impressed with the picture quality of it either, though it was at least watchable compared to Disc 2/Home Alone 2. We ended up returning this because the original DVD's are just fine for us and in the end it was not worth the "upgrade" just to be able to watch the extras.

Title : Coming Home [Blu-ray]
ASIN : B00MYMT9W2
Description : Perhaps the most compelling picture ever made about the shattering aftermath of the Vietnam War, Coming Home earned eight Academy Award® nominations and won three for Best Actress (Jane Fonda), Actor (Jon Voight) and Original Screenplay. Coming Home is a heartrending and unforgettable examination of a critical period in our nation's history and an uncompromising, extraordinarily moving film directed by the great Hal Ashby (The Last Detail). When Marine Captain Bob Hyde (Bruce Dern, Black Sunday) leaves for Vietnam, his wife Sally (Jane Fonda, Klute) volunteers at a local hospital. There she meets Luke Martin (Jon Voight, Deliverance), a former sergeant whose war injury has left him a paraplegic. Embittered with rage and filled with frustration, Luke finds new hope and confidence through his growing intimacy with Sally. The relationship transforms Sally's feeling about life, love and the horrors of war. And when, wounded and disillusioned, Sally's husband returns home, all three must grapple with the full impact of a brutal distant war that has changed their lives forever. The stellar supporting cast includes Robert Carradine (The Big Red One) and Robert Ginty (The Exterminator).

Review : A paraplegic vet, a military wife and the war in Vietnam
This is the moving story of a military wife, played by Jane Fonda, who volunteers in a veterans' hospital when her captain husband gets sent to Vietnam. Here she meets Luke Martin, a paraplegic, played by Jon Voight. When she first meets him, he's on a gurney, and when she accidentally bumps into him, his catheter bag is knocked over, embarrassing him so much that he goes into an angry rage and has to be restrained. Eventually, though, she comes to know him and, as his condition improves enough so that he can get a wheelchair, she gradually develops a relationship with him. Through the art of this film, I found myself drawn right into the emotional intensity of the situation and I learned more than I ever wanted to know about the life of a paraplegic.
All the actors are great, including the supporting roles of Bruce Dern as the husband and Penelope Milford as Fonda's friend whose psychotic brother commits suicide. No wonder the film was nominated for eight academy awards in...
